Stop scrolling through restaurant options- you've found the place to go.
I went in last week and haven't stopped thinking about the amazing meal I had with my family. Seriously guys, we haven't been that impressed with the food in Florence, but this place was totally amazing. We had four kids with us, and four adults- the layout of the restaurant is small so not awesome for big groups, but they were very accommodating and made it a great experience. All the waitstaff was super friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was lovely. But I'm here to talk about THE FOOD.
People. It was SO GOOD. I got a little bore off everyone's dish and it was all fantastic. The fish sandwiches were cooked to perfection, the open face tri tip parm is what dreams are made of. The schnitzel was exactly how it should have been preppy. The chicken pot pie plate was amazing- the mashed potatoes were everything I love: chunky, skin on, perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. The kids menu was great as well- lots of options. My kids loved the Mac n cheese. The clam chowder was not your typical creamy soup- it was BETTER. I swear. I didn't think doing it another way would work but it DID. My mouth is watering just writing this.
The other thing is- the bill at the end was $88 for 8 people. It couldn't believe it. We checked the total to make sure it wasn't calculated wrong, but it wasn't. Crazy good value for the quality of food, in my opinion.
It's now our go to place. No need to try anywhere else. It's hits all my requirements: amazing food, wonderful staff, great ambiance, excellent value, and *bonus* it's family run. A win all around, your friends will be impressed at your choice in restaurants and you will be a hero. Go. You can thank me later. -

Great addition to Bay Street. Breakfast has waffles from sweet to savory, omletes, biscuits and gravy, and of course chicken schnitzel (which is like a chicken fried steak).
For lunch I HIGHLY recommend the Rueben. Literally the best Rueben I have ever had. (And I'm a bit of a Rueben connoisseur.) or the Gypsy burger. With soup (I love her chowder).
Dinner is a very tough choice, everything is to die for, but chicken marsala is one of my favorite dishes and Mari has outdone herself. Sooo good!!!
Severs are welcoming and attentive. I loved the outside seating in the summer. Inside is very cute, yet classy. Drink options are great also, some amazing willamette valley wines, local beer, and great cocktails. -

I was visiting my Dad from Los Angeles and he recommended we go to Mari's kitchen for dinner. I love visiting Bay Street and love to try new places. Plus, he was raving about the food. Our dinner was incredible! We started with the decadent basil & garlic butter bread basket. We were powerless not to finish the whole thing! Then I had the pork schnitzel with the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. My Dad had the seafood pasta and was thrilled as well.
The restaurant was so charming! I cannot wait to come back again. -

Mari's was the perfect breakfast spot for our second day in Florence. We arrived early in the morning and only a few tables inside and out were taken, so being seated and waited on was fast and simple. We both ordered a Bloody Mary's, which came out quick, and tasted delicious. She asked us how spicy we wanted them, and they were made perfect to our specifications. The hard part about ordering at Mari's is the menu has so many great things to choose from, not to mention the specials. I would feel I'm missing out if I order one thing over another, so multiple visits are a must. I ended up landing on the meat lover's quiche, which comes with "all meats they have on hand"; I love a good mystery. The quiche was delicious, though I do wish it were slightly larger, especially for the price. This was the only breakfast spot in Florence we dined at, but I can see myself being a repeat customer again and again.
